This very old large dovecote, with a circular shape, is dated 1674.
It shelters 1681 nests on a surface of 100 m2.
Look at the right picture: the swivelling ladder (the potence) allows
easy access to the upper nest-holes.
This dovecote belongs to a castle.
Built in the first half of the seventeenth century, it presents 4 beautiful
sculpted attic windows with 3 balls of rest for the birds. The pinnacle
with 8 sides is surmounted by a tin-pigeon.
This dovecote is supposed to have been a windmill a long time
ago.
Situated in a grain growing region, it is still inhabited by birds.
The roof with 8 sides covered with tiles is decorated of a slate crown.
